Nadmierne korzystanie z mediów a zaburzenia integracji sensorycznej (na przykładzie małego dziecka)

Abstrakt

The inspiration behind writing this text were parents and their young children that attended
my office for the diagnosis of Sensory Integration Disorders - children that were stimulated
on an everyday basis by electronic media (smartphone, tablet, television) which made their
functioning in everyday life very difficult and parents who could not cope with the difficult
behavior of their children. The article combines elements of knowledge and practice in the
field of Sensory Integration. Within the scope of the theory’s basics, information on what is
Sensory Integration, what are SI disorders, and research conducted by the Dzieci Niczyje
Foundation, which show how common and harmful for a small child is the use of electronic
media, is included. Briefly, the diagnostic and therapeutic process is described, as well as the
first effects of the actions taken, in the case of a two and a half year old boy.
